Maaria is a Registered Social Worker who has over 15 years experience in counselling and psychotherapy. Throughout her work, she has provided support to people of all ages (children, adolescents, adults, and older adults) with a range of personal life stories. She is dedicated to helping people rise from challenges so they can live their best life. To do this, she provides guidance using approaches that have been proven through research to work, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Behavioural Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy informed practice, and Mindfulness.
Maaria has experience and specialist training in the treatment of symptoms related to depression and anxiety (including panic, post traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive concerns, social anxiety, health anxiety, and specific phobias). Her training also includes the treatment of couples and families toward better understanding and supporting one another.
